This is a material often used as an alternative to lead, as it is not only both strong and versatile in any environment, but also weathers down like lead. It also has one advantage over lead - it is both difficult and dangerous for the unskilled to remove, acting as a deterrent to lead thieves!

The material has been a popular choice for many years - the Chrysler building in Chicago was crowned with terned stainless steel when it was built in 1929, and it's a major component of the Thames Barrier.

Stainless steel was the low maintenance choice when C.E.L converted an old warehouse into a modern residential development on the Thames at Concordia Wharf. They installed pitched roofs with flat and traditional valleys, along with a bespoke high-flow gutter system in the project on the Isle of Dogs.
