Completed Restoration Projects

C.E.L is proud of its track record for sympathetic restoration of our finest historic buildings. The skills of our craftsmen will ensure that our work will last as long, if not longer, than the original.

Although our craftsmen are intensively trained - both in-house and on specialist courses abroad - much of their skill and expertise has been acquired through that irreplaceable factor - experience!

Restoration of some of the finest buildings in the United Kingdom - and further afield - calls for levels of craftsmanship that matched those that inspired the architects of centuries past.

Architecturally-driven, we specialise in restoration of cathedrals, churches, stately homes and civic buildings, employing a variety of materials and skills to guarantee the historical integrity of the original construction.

When All Saints Church, Moulton was hit by a tornado, the skills of our carpenters and stonemasons were required to repair the damage to the traditional oak beams and decorative stone buttresses. They also ensured that much of the original materials were conserved, while restoring the church’s safety.

At Barnwell Priory, Cambridge, we worked closely with both architects and structural engineers to consolidate the crumbling medieval masonry of this historic building.
